A practical way to check
- Pause. Do not reply, click, download, or pay while you are unsure.
- Read the full message and compare the sender and request with what you expected.
- Use official contact details you find independently—not the number or link in the message.
- Ask a trusted person or use an AI-assisted risk assessment for another perspective.
If you already interacted
If you clicked a link, entered information, or sent money, contact the relevant bank, card issuer, or service through its official channel. Change exposed passwords, enable multi-factor authentication where available, and keep screenshots or confirmation records for a report.
